PRIVACY POLICY

The statements below outline the position taken by CrissCross International in compliance with recent EU legislation on General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), effective May 2018.

The EU data protection legislation requires us to provide you with more information about how we process your personal data, why we may need it, and of course your rights as a viewer. We have not changed the way we operate the website, but we have become more vigilant about handling visitor information.

GENERAL

The operator and responsible entity of this website for the purposes of protecting personal data, including data that you leave behind during your visit to www.crissx.org, is CrissCross International.

This Privacy Policy outlines how we use, process and protect any information that you provide us with when you visit our website. It defines our commitment and the framework for protecting your privacy. From time to time, we foresee the need to make changes to our site and to update this page; to the cookies and/or to our policies. We are entitled to change the content of the policy at any time and without notice, as part of the development of our website; to implement new legislation, upgrade applicable technologies, or simply to improve our website. We recommend you to visit this page from time to time to read updates on our Privacy Policy and to ensure that you are comfortable with any changes and updates.

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

The website is our conduit for communicating business information to the outside world. Its primary aim is not to collect or process information of visitors to the website. We are however aware that visitor information, including personal data may be collected in the background within the host operating system. As our website host is a publicly-registered and TÜV certified German company, its compliance with the European Union's GDPR is deemed implicit.

Personal data is data or a combination of individual pieces of information that you are identified with. Such data may also be collected from trade shows, conferences and exhibitions, etc.

Contact data may be stored as provided within the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany and the data protection regulations of the European Union. Where applicable, our website may include specific data entry forms, which can consist of mandatory and voluntary fields.

Information collected may include:
 • File name and identification data, including URL and anonymous IP addresses;
 • Contact details, including email addresses;
 • Demographic information, post codes, preferences and interests;
 • Other information associated with customer surveys, offers, or downloads.
Note: We do not knowingly collect and store personal information from persons under the age of 18.

DATA PROCESSING

Personal information is normally acquired and used to help us understand your needs and to provide targeted information, and in particular, to achieve the following:
 • Individualisation - to improve our products and services and to enable follow ups on enquiries.
 • Personalisation - we may periodically send promotional emails about new updates and/or information which we think you may find interesting.
 • Optimisation - from time to time, we may use your information to contact you via email, phone, fax or post for market research purposes. We may also use the information to customise the website accordingly.
 • Administration - for internal technical record keeping and for customer relationship management (CRM).
 • Law Enforcement - for the purposes of giving evidence and prevention of illegal activities, e.g. forwarding personal information to law enforcement agencies or third parties, if required by law to do so.
 • Legal Compliance - for reasons of compliance with legal guidelines or for upholding an existing contractual arrangement, e.g. with government agencies, for payment processing or for maintaining General Terms and Conditions.
Note: As a matter of principle, we do not distribute your personal data to third parties and do not practise address trading!

LINKS

Our website may contain links to external websites that may be of interest. Here we wish to emphasise that we do not have any control over these external links and they may also not be governed by the same Privacy Policy. When connecting to these links, including after leaving our site, we cannot be held responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you may provide them. We suggest exercising prudence and to read their applicable privacy statement.

COMMUNITIES

When you sign up to be part of social media networks, apps or website tracking, personal information as well as user data and widgets will be transmitted, compiled, processed and shared. Corresponding information will also be published in the respective social networks and shown to your contacts. If you are a member of a social network and do not wish these data to be transmitted, you must logout of the social network before visiting the CrissCross International website. With the logout, access to your social network account is denied and your profile is no longer retrievable.

COOKIES

A cookie is a small text file containing information, which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. They help provide insights into how the website is used. We also use cookies to optimise all functions for best performance during your visit.

Continued use of our website without having changed your browser settings confirms your acceptance of any cookies.

There are two types of cookies usually used to improve user experience to the website:
 • Durable Cookies - are files stored on the visitor’s computer, which remains until the end of the term. The file is used for example to make it easier for visitors to use and revisit the site based on their wishes and interests. They disappear if the visitor chooses to clear cookies from the browser.
 • Session Cookies - are stored temporarily in the visitor’s computer memory during the time the visitor is on the site. They disappear when the visitor turns off their browser.

Cookies help us analyse web traffic and lets you know when you visited a particular site. They allow web applications to respond to you as an individual by tailoring web operations to your needs, likes and dislikes, and by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

For example, we may use traffic log cookies to identify and monitor which pages are being visited. Such data helps us to statistically analyse web page traffic and to monitor pages you find useful and those which are irrelevant. This enables us to tailor our website to suit interested parties and to provide a better website.

A cookie does not give us access to your computer or information about you, other than data you choose to share with us. You can opt to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to reject cookies if you prefer and automatically deny cache storage. You can also request to be informed beforehand each time a site asks to store a cookie. Rejecting cookies may however prevent you from taking full advantage of the website. Stored cookies can also be manually deleted from your hard drive at any time. This is done in the settings menu of your internet service provider, e.g. Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, or similar.

A popular provider of internet services is Google Inc. Suggested information on how user data is handled may be obtained from Google’s help pages, where downloading and installing browser plugins are also available via the following link: Google Analytics.

SECURITY PROTECTION

We are committed to ensuring your information is secure and access is limited to a small number of persons with special system access rights. To safeguard the information we collect and prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have set up and followed recommended physical, electronic and administrative procedures. These technical and administrative settings ensure that your personal data are not accessible to third parties.

Despite best efforts, we feel compelled to highlight the fact that the Internet is a globally open platform, with its specific mode of operation and involving third party service providers. Data transmission via the Internet carries systemic risks and is implicitly vulnerable to inadvertent and extraneous security gaps. When communicating via email, complete data security cannot be guaranteed by us. We therefore recommend not sending confidential information by email. All data transfers initiated by you are explicitly at your own risk.
